Tell us about yourself, your history and how you came to be where you are now.
A good movie is entertaining, a great movie is inspirational. I’ve spent my life hoping that someday I can make a film worthy of being called “great.” Close to five years ago I decided to make steps towards that goal. It’s that pursuit that led me to where I am today.

What are you passionate about professionally and personally, and why?
A few years ago, I made the decision to make a career out of something I already love doing. It’s because of that decision that my professional and personal passions are the same. However, there are still a few things I reserve just for personal enjoyment such as traveling, learning and the occasional group party with my friends on Xbox. I enjoy these things because they provide joy to those involved.

What is your superpower?
I believe my superpower is creation. Having the ability to turn words on a page into a visual and audible story that can be enjoyed around the world is something that still puts me in awe. One project can be enough to change the course of someone’s life and with Black Sparrow Media I am able to create those projects.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment, either professionally or personally?
My biggest professional accomplishment happens any time someone approaches me and says they’ve seen my work, or that they’ve enjoyed my work. Knowing that what I do for a living has purpose and seeing that purpose materialize is a feeling that I hope to never be numb to.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
Easily my parents. Without a doubt. After them, I would say Sandra Bullock. All the fun times and laughter spent with Sandy has been some of the most joyous moments of my life. That’s absolutely what I would say. If I ever get the chance to meet her that is.

Where do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
Hopefully in five and 10 years I’ll be working through Black Sparrow Media AND be able to afford groceries at the same time. What a concept! I also enjoy teaching or mentoring; it would be nice if in 10 years I have mentored someone into fulfilling their dreams as well. Being able to pass along knowledge to help others succeed is something I hope to accomplish.

What piece(s) of advice would you give to your
18-year-old self?

It’s gonna get tough, you’re tougher. You’ve got this.

What do you enjoy doing in your downtime?
For me personally, a good-sized popcorn, a soda and a dark movie theater really can’t be beat. For Colorado this may a controversial opinion, but I run around so much and work for so long, my comforts revolve around doing as little as possible when I have the chance!

What would you like to give back to your community?
A platform to create and tell the stories that otherwise might not get told. I want to create something that will bring much needed resources to create stories to this community.
