Hairstylist, Frae & Co. Salon

Tell us about yourself, your history and how you came to be where you are now.
I grew up in Fort Collins and after graduating from Poudre High School, went to Front Range Community College, receiving an Associates of Arts Degree in Business. I found that my passion was cosmetology, so I went to TIGI Academy in Colorado Springs. I now work at Frae & Co. Salon in Windsor, and it truly couldn’t be a better fit for me.

What are you passionate about professionally and personally, and why?
I am passionate about being the best at what I do. There is nothing better than customers leaving the salon happy with their hair! I am so proud to work for and with such an amazing group of women who make every day fun. I also have a great clientele. Their trust in me to do their hair solidifies my passion of being a hairdresser.

What is your superpower?
Making people feel beautiful every time they leave my chair! I love seeing the confidence my clients feel after I do their hair.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment, either professionally or personally?
Being brave in following my passion versus the expected route for me was where I really surprised myself. I am proud that I made a decision that felt like a gamble to some but is truly something I love.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
My family. No matter what, they are always in my corner. They definitely give me unsolicited advice sometimes, but they make me a better person. I don’t know if I could have done all this without them.

Where do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
This is a hard question for me because I really like to live in the moment. For right now, and in the next five years, I see myself at Frae & Co.! It’s my home away from home and filled with a lot of people I love and enjoy. As for the next five years, I hope to continue to grow my clientele and education, as well as build meaningful relationships within the NOCO community.

What piece(s) of advice would you give to your
18-year-old self?

As simple as it sounds, don’t follow the path someone else chooses for you. You might hit some bumps in the road, but that’s what life is about. Everything and every situation is a learning experience.

What do you enjoy doing in your downtime?
I like going to concerts and taking spontaneous trips. When I’m home, I love being with family, friends and my dog, Rizzo. I also enjoy boating at Horsetooth and checking out new local places around town.

What would you like to give back to your community?
Inspiration! I want people to be inspired to follow their passion and dreams.
