Aims Community College will host Ken Salazar for a presentation, meet-and-greet and book signing at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21. The event is free for community members to attend.
Salazar is a fifth-generation Coloradan, former U.S. ambassador to Mexico and U.S. secretary of the interior. With that experience and as former Colorado attorney general and U.S. senator, Salazar shares powerful insights from his historic career in public service and highlights from his new book, “Borderlands: My Fight for an Inclusive America.” Don’t miss your opportunity to hear his perspective on conservation, civil rights and building a more inclusive future for America.
“Ken Salazar’s experiences offer a starting point for meaningful conversations about leadership, opportunity and the role each of us can play in our communities,” says Rhonda Solis, a member of the Aims Community College Board of Trustees. “His story is inspirational and one that many in Colorado can identify with, including me.”
The event will be held at the Aims Welcome Center, located at 4901 W. 20th St., in the Miller Auditorium on the Greeley campus.
“Bringing people together to learn, exchange ideas and broaden their perspectives is central to our mission at Aims,” says Leah L. Bornstein, CEO and president of Aims Community College. “We are pleased to welcome Ken Salazar and his voice on inclusivity and public service.”
This event is sponsored by several Aims Community College departments and programs, including the Civic Engagement Council, The MOSAIC, Campus Activities Program Board and the Student Government Association.
