Tell us about yourself, your history and how you came to be where you are now.
I grew up on a small farm in Indiana, but I’ve moved to a couple different states since graduating college. Colorado is where I intend to spend a large portion of the remainder of my life. I went to Indiana State for my undergraduate degree, and that’s where I met my beautiful fiancé, whom I’ll marry in September. My faith, family, friends and my attitude have gotten me where I am today.
What are you passionate about professionally and personally, and why?
I’m blessed to work with teams of professionals every day in the dynamic construction industry. It’s fascinating as I continue to grow and understand the different individuals involved in the development of communities. I’m forever grateful for all the people who have taught me what I know and who have chosen to lend a hand. My faith, family and community are my primary focus. I’ve found that’s where my joy comes from.
What is your superpower?
I can’t think of much that makes me special. I believe my positive attitude is a good quality about myself.
What do you consider your biggest accomplishment, either professionally or personally?
I’ve been able to help some people in my community and that’s neat. I would say I’ve set myself up with a good foundation for my 30s built on my faith and values.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
My parents.
Where do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
In five years, I see myself with a few children and a joyful spirit. In 10, I hope to have developed into an incredible father and recognized by others as a helper to those in need. I hope that my emotional health is in a good place and that I’m as optimistic then as I am today.
What piece(s) of advice would you give to your
18-year-old self?
I would tell myself that times will get tough, but those times make you stronger, so keep a good attitude. Keep your eyes on Jesus and stay focused, but not just on yourself all the time. Professional development is nothing in comparison to personal development. Finding discipline is in fact the least stressful way to ride the rollercoaster of emotions life can be.
What do you enjoy doing in your downtime?
I enjoy spending time with my dog, fiancé and friends. I enjoy brewing beer, golfing, exercising, hunting/fishing, volunteering and teaching Sunday school. I hope to have some children in the near future, and that will take away most of my “downtime.” There are always things to do here in Northern Colorado.
What would you like to give back to your community?
I like giving my time. I sponsor the belief that as a group we can continue a thriving Northern Colorado. Many incredible people live here.
