More than 300 participants completed the annual Monster Mash-up 5K Saturday, Oct. 17, in Greeley. The event brought together employees from both the city of Greeley and Greeley-Evans School District 6. Family and friends also joined in for a morning of fitness and Halloween-inspired fun.
Participants of all ages and abilities walked or ran the 3.1-mile course. Many did so while wearing costumes for the occasion. Following the 5K, participants enjoyed refreshments while celebrating their shared commitment to wellness.
“We’re thrilled to partner with District 6,” says Corey Olin, the city’s learning and wellness supervisor. “The 5K is an opportunity to promote wellness and bring our community together. This year’s event was a lot of fun and one to remember!”
Rachel Hurshman, District 6 wellness coordinator, agrees. “We are so grateful to the city for allowing us to join in on their annual tradition. Events like these benefit our staff’s physical, mental and social well-being. This collaboration is a great example of what makes Greeley such a wonderful place to live and work.”
The Monster Mash-up 5K continued the city’s commitment to employee wellness. The event also provided an opportunity for staff members and their families to connect outside the workplace. The city’s collaboration with District 6 shows how partnerships can help people lead healthier, more active lives.
