Human Bean Northern Colorado Hosts Largest Fundraising Effort to Support Local Cancer Fighters

By: Staff

The staff is buzzing with excitement as Human Bean Northern Colorado prepares for the 21st annual Coffee for a Cure event, its largest fundraising initiative. On Friday, Oct. 16, all 11 drive-thru locations will donate 100 percent of sales to serve breast cancer, and all cancers, patients at local Banner Health and UCHealth facilities.

To date, this event has raised nearly $747,000 for local cancer fighters.

“This is a big day for us and the community,” says Frank Sherman, owner of Human Bean Northern Colorado. “Coffee for a Cure helps generate not only funds for those battling cancer, but it builds a sense of hope. Each year, I am inspired by how much our community rallies together for this event and cause.”

In anticipation of the big day and in recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Human Bean will be featuring a pink drink every Friday as the daily discounted special: cold brew topped with a cherry-almond cold foam on Oct. 3; Pinky Promise, dragon fruit guava split with lime bright, on Oct. 10; and Pink Lady, a classic white chocolate latte with cherry syrup, on Oct. 18.

Representatives from Banner Health and UCHealth will serve as guest baristas at each location. This will give customers the opportunity to ask questions and make cash donations.

Larimer and Weld county funds will benefit both the UCHealth Foundation and North Colorado Medical Center Breast Cancer Fund, providing financial assistance to overcome barriers related to the diagnosis and treatment of all cancers.
