Downtown Loveland is getting into the fall spirit with the return of the seventh annual Downtown Loveland Pumpkin Festival from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. This year’s festival will bring five hours of family-friendly fall fun to three blocks of Fourth Street, including a newly completed section of the Heart Improvement Plan.
The festival will take place on three blocks of Fourth Street between North Railroad and Jefferson avenues. The Loveland Downtown District is pleased to announce we’re shifting the event map to include “Block 4,” which is the section of Fourth Street between North Railroad and Cleveland avenues, as construction on this portion of the Heart Improvement Plan nears completion.
“We’re excited to celebrate fall in a space that represents such a significant milestone for Downtown Loveland,” says Sean Hawkins, executive director of the Loveland Downtown District. “The Pumpkin Festival gives our community an opportunity to experience the newly completed Fourth Street while enjoying one of our favorite annual traditions.”
The expanded festival footprint will feature three distinct areas:
Farmers Market Block: Fourth Street between North Railroad and Cleveland avenues
Visitors can shop local farmers market stands, pick out the perfect pumpkin, browse vendors and enjoy the fall atmosphere.
Pumpkin Decorating Block: Fourth Street between Cleveland and Lincoln avenues
The heart of the Pumpkin Festival will feature pumpkin decorating, live pumpkin sculpting, a DJ, food vendors, games and contests.
Visitors can purchase a $15 pumpkin decorating ticket, which includes a large pumpkin, festival tote bag, decorating supplies and the opportunity to work with a local artist on a unique pumpkin design. Additional pumpkins and decorative gourds will also be available for purchase during the event.
Entertainment Block: Fourth Street between Lincoln and Jefferson avenues
Hosted by Find Your Light Theatre Co. and Brandon Harrington, aka DJ Beetlejuice, this block will feature spooky entertainment, carnival-style activities, multiple contests and a family-friendly haunted house.
Entertainment Block activities include the FNBO Group & Family Costume Contest at 1 p.m., a “Trolls” performance by Find Your Light Theatre Co. at 2 p.m., the Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest at 3 p.m. and a Pumpkin Hoisting Contest at 4 p.m. All contests are free to enter; space is limited in some of the events with advance registration available.
The Downtown Pumpkin Festival is free to attend, with tickets required only for pumpkin decorating.
The event is presented by the Loveland Downtown District in partnership with Find Your Light Theatre Co. and City of Loveland Parks & Recreation, with support from festival sponsors and local businesses.
The Downtown Pumpkin Festival is one of the first major community events to take place as another section of the Heart Improvement Plan reaches completion. The multiyear project is revitalizing Fourth Street from the ground up with new infrastructure, streets, sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, seating and other public improvements. The project is expected to fully wrap up in November 2026.
“We’ve spent the last year and a half watching Fourth Street transform block by block,” Hawkins says. “Now we get to invite the community onto another newly completed section and celebrate what’s ahead for downtown.”
