Fort Collins Running Club’s 27th annual FireKracker 5K drew record participation as nearly 2,100 runners and walkers filled City Park to celebrate Independence Day through fitness and community. The morning opened with the 5K, followed by a separate spectator-friendly Elite 5K, where top regional athletes competed for a prize on a four-lap course around Sheldon Lake. The celebration concluded with the Kids 1-Mile, as hundreds of young runners crossed the finish line to enthusiastic cheers from family and friends. Proceeds from the event supported local youth running initiatives and programs helping inspire the next generation.
