Tell us about yourself, your history and how you came to be where you are now.

I was raised on a rural farm in Yuma, Colo., where I learned the value of hard work, resilience and community. Being the first in my family to graduate college shaped my determination to keep pushing toward meaningful goals. I studied social work at CSU because I have always felt called to serve and support others. Today, I’m proud to be building a life rooted in creativity, connection and purpose. Through Mod Picnic Co. and my work in tourism tech, I’m able to bring people together, support my community and continue growing personally and professionally.

Explain your career, achievements and professional highlights.

I’m a community-focused entrepreneur and tech professional with a background in social work. As the owner of Mod Picnic Co., I create meaningful experiences that bring people together while partnering with local nonprofits and small businesses to serve and nourish my community. Alongside my business, I work full-time in tech, building websites that help tourism businesses grow their online presence. My career has been shaped by creativity, service, customer experience and a strong work ethic, allowing me to combine my passion for community with entrepreneurship and technology.

In what ways do you give back to the community?

I give back to the community by partnering with local nonprofits and small businesses to create meaningful experiences for others. I have worked closely with NOCO Unify to donate picnic packages for fundraising, helping provide special moments the organization may not otherwise have access to. I also collaborate with local small businesses on community events, such as Berthoud Blooms & Co. flower workshops, events with Sweet Heart Winery & Event Center and sip-and-paint experiences featuring local artists. These partnerships bring people together while supporting other local businesses and creating unique, memorable experiences for our community.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment or challenge you’ve overcome, either professionally or personally?

My biggest accomplishment has been elevating Mod Picnic Co. while balancing a full-time career. I have streamlined my brand, improved the customer experience, built awareness and created a stronger sense of community around my business. Growing something meaningful while managing both roles has challenged me to be creative, disciplined and resilient and has shown me what I’m capable of when I stay committed to my vision.

Where do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?

In five years, I see myself continuing to grow as an entrepreneur, expanding my business and creating more meaningful experiences within my community. I hope to keep building a life rooted in purpose, creativity and connection. In 10 years, I see myself still pursuing entrepreneurship while raising a family of my own, creating a balance between meaningful work, community impact and a fulfilling personal life.

What piece(s) of advice would you give to your younger self?

I would tell my younger self that her voice matters and that she should never be afraid to take up space. Growing up, I did not always have the confidence to see my own potential, so I would remind her that she is smart, capable and worthy of big dreams. I would tell her to trust herself, speak up and believe that she can create a life filled with purpose, success and meaning.

Tell us something unique about you.

I’ve always found ways to blend creativity, service and hard work. From growing up on a rural farm to studying social work, working in tech and building Mod Picnic Co., my path has not been traditional. I’m proud that I’ve created a life where I can support my community, bring people together and turn meaningful moments into something beautiful and memorable.

How did Mod Picnic Co. come into your life?

I purchased Mod Picnic Co. from a couple who had built and operated the business for a few years. I saw the potential to put my own creative vision behind it. Since taking over, I’ve focused on building a recognizable brand, fostering meaningful relationships within the community and creating unforgettable experiences for clients. What started as a picnic business has grown into a platform for celebrating life’s biggest moments. Watching the company evolve and become a trusted part of Northern Colorado’s event scene has been incredibly rewarding.

How did growing up in a rural area shape your life and interests?

Growing up in Yuma taught me the value of hard work, community and supporting those around you. It also helped me understand what I wanted (and didn’t want) for my future. While I appreciate the slower pace and close-knit nature of small towns, I’ve realized that I thrive in a more social, active community like Fort Collins. Going back home always reminds me where I came from and helps me appreciate the life I’ve built. Most importantly, growing up rurally exposed me to different perspectives and lifestyles, teaching me the importance of understanding, respect and open-mindedness toward others and their paths in life.
