The NOCO Urban Ultra drew 65 runners from Colorado and nine additional states for a 50-mile journey along the newly completed Poudre River Trail connecting Bellvue, Fort Collins, Timnath, Windsor and Greeley. Of the 65 participants, 41 completed the full distance as solo ultramarathoners, while the remainder ran as relay teams covering the same course. Volunteers and local businesses stationed at key points along the route provided hydration, nutrition and encouragement as runners logged hours on the trail. With a start time of 5 a.m. and finishes stretching to 8 p.m., the race demonstrated the true grit and determination of the ultrarunning spirit.
