Colorado State University’s ACT Human Rights Film Festival screened 28 films from 13 countries in its 11th year, drawing more than 2,000 attendees to CSU and The Lyric. Opening night featured a showing of “Comparsa,” with Emmy-winning director Vickie Curtis, Oscar-nominated producer Olivia Ahnemann, producer Anna Hadingham and protagonist Lesli Perez in attendance. On Saturday, “Creede U.S.A.” played to a sold-out audience, followed by a Q&A with Oscar-nominated director Kahane Corn Cooperman, producer Innbo Shim and several film participants. The festival partnered with more than a dozen local nonprofits, bringing global stories and awareness of social issues to NOCO audiences.
