The Crooked Rugs to Release New Record

By: Staff

Mixing vintage Americana with modern psychedelia, The Crooked Rugs’ new record, TCR, will showcase the Fort Collins band’s deep understanding of rock history while remaining authentic and non-derivative. While technical prowess is just as evident as in their other works, the band chose to bring toe-tapping beats and catchy melodies to the forefront on this project. TCR is set for release on May 15.

The record is about new phases, taking an introspective look at friendships, creative collaboration, the complexities of personality and creating art in modern times. Sonically, this record holds a space reminiscent of sounds from an older time; it’s a modern take on the warmth typically found in your grandpa’s record collection.

The Crooked Rugs are a group of “space cowboys” formed in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. They deliver a captivating blend of rock and roll that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly modern, invoking mysterious noise that manages to sound otherworldly and familiar at the same time. The band has been featured on NPR, PBS, 303 Magazine, Westword, Bandwagon Magazine and Thirst Colorado. They can be found at @thecrookedrugs on Instagram, Spotify, Apple, YouTube, Bandcamp and EPK.
