Articles Turned Into Art

Featuring Loveland Artist Kathie Lambert

For years, past issues of NOCO Style have been collected by Kathie Lambert, who cuts out bits of paper and transforms them into colorful collages. Lambert, wife of the late “Mr. Loveland,” Rick Lambert, is a lifelong artist who has dabbled in many mediums, from painting and quilting to making steampunk art out of old screws. But the magazines keep sparking her creativity.

“I like taking little bits of nothing and creating something,” she says. “You see a lot of magazines go by the wayside, and it’s sad because the paper is such good quality. I thought, ‘I’ve got all these magazines stacked up, so I might as well see what I can do.’”

When inspiration strikes, Lambert sorts the pieces of paper by color to create her palette, as if they were paints. Then she glues them down, one by one, to bring her vision to life. Check out some of her completed works here.
