Tuesday, March 16, 2610 W. 10th Street, Greeley
The Human Bean Northern Colorado has proudly made it a tradition to support community nonprofits through fundraising efforts on their Guest Barista days. On Tuesday, March 16, The Human Bean Northern Colorado will donate 10% of all sales made at the 2610 W. 10th Street, Greeley location to the Best Buddies Club. The Best Buddies Club is a program dedicated to establishing a volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, leadership development and advocates inclusivity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Greeley Central High School is the only school in Weld County to provide the Best Buddies Club program. The club meets every other Friday during lunch to do crafts and spend time with students. Each person in the club is paired with one student with IDD, focusing on fostering friendships. The club conducts annual field trips and in-school activities. Each year the club’s President and Vice President attend a leadership conference in Indiana to learn more on how to run the club and get ideas to really make an impact with students. The funds are necessary to support and maintain the club.
Members of Greeley Central High School’s Best Buddies Club will serve as guest baristas. Customers can ask them questions about the club. Those interested in learning more about Best Buddies can also visit bestbuddies.org/colorado/.
