Empowering Women Program

Poudre River Public Library District is hosting an upcoming Community Conversation program about key issues affecting women and girls, locally and around the world, and ways that individuals can work together to empower women and tackle sex exploitation, domestic violence and sexual assault, and other issues. The program is designed and hosted by Fort Collins teen Emma Schulman.

“Empowering Women: Tackling Exploitation, Assault, and other Issues” is Thursday, January 10, at Council Tree Library (2733 Council Tree Ave., Fort Collins). The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and includes an artistic component and the opportunity for open discussion following the guest speakers.

Speakers include Kristin Stephen, City Councilwoman and member of the City’s Women’s Commission; Tanya Cadwell, Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center (SAVA); and a representative from Free Our Girls.

The public is welcome to attend. More information can be found at PoudreLibraries.org or by calling (970) 221-6740.
