Public Relations, Blue Federal Credit Union
Tell us about yourself, your history and how you came to be where you are now.
I grew up on the east coast, went to school in the middle, and moved to the mountains. I learned public relations, worked in marketing, helped out with some digital stuff, ate some tacos and now I am back to public relations. Along the way I got married, got a cat, then a dog, then a house, and now a baby is on the way.
What are you passionate about professionally and personally, and why?
Communication and what it can look like. How people understand a message and act on a message is endlessly fascinating to me.
What is your superpower?
Communicating the right message, at the right time, to the right audience, with the right medium.
What do you consider your biggest accomplishment, either professionally or personally?
Raising over $900,000 for direct COVID relief for 11 communities and wildfire relief for both Colorado and Wyoming Red Cross throughout 2020.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
My wife, bar none. Her intelligence combined with her kindness leaves me in awe almost every day.
Where do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
I see myself in the financial world, most likely still in the credit union space. I deeply resonate with the message that credit unions are built of people helping people.
What piece(s) of advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
1. Slow Down 2. Calm Down 3. Wear Sunscreen
What do you enjoy doing in your downtime?
Read, run, contemplate when the next ‘once in a generation’ catastrophe is going to strike, play with
my dog.
What would you like to give back to your community?
A sense of hope and a spirit of service. Changing the world is hard, but changing your world is not.
