Lace up your running shoes and bring your appetite. The town of Berthoud is gearing up for its first-ever community-driven fitness celebration, the Eat. Run. Adopt. 10K, taking place on Saturday, Aug. 8.
Inspired by legendary food-centric endurance events and designed to highlight the best of Northern Colorado, this unique 10K blends local cuisine, small business support and animal rescue into one unforgettable morning. A portion of all race registration proceeds will directly benefit Scroungy Dogs and Pretty Pups Rescue, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs and cats in the region.
Another important option at this race is free childcare for under 8 at Raising Daisies Daycare in Berthoud from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. so that moms and families can participate.
A Moving Feast with a Mission
Unlike traditional running races, the Eat. Run. Adopt. 10K transforms the course into a moving culinary tour. Participants will journey through Berthoud, stopping at local restaurant-sponsored food aid stations along the route. Runners will wear a wristband that gets hole-punched at each station to verify their stops.
“We wanted to create an event that celebrates the heart of our town—our incredible local restaurants and small businesses—while rallying the community to support animals in need,” event organizers shared. “Whether you’re running to set a personal record or jogging leisurely for the local bites and the cause, it’s a day built for everyone.”
