The Colorado S.M.I.L.E.S. Project to Host “Back to School in Style” Backpack Giveaway

The Colorado S.M.I.L.E.S. Project is proud to announce its annual “Back to School in Style” Backpack Giveaway, taking place from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at Old Fairgrounds Park, 700 S. Railroad Ave. in Loveland. The event is designed to help local students start the new school year equipped with the essential school supplies they need to succeed.

Families are invited to attend this free community event, where students will receive backpacks filled with school supplies while supplies last. The “Back to School in Style” Backpack Giveaway reflects The Colorado S.M.I.L.E.S. Project’s ongoing commitment to supporting children, strengthening families and ensuring students have the resources they need to begin the school year with confidence.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to start the school year prepared, confident and excited to learn,” says Xak Wolfe, executive director of The Colorado S.M.I.L.E.S. Project. “This event is about more than backpacks—it’s about investing in our students, supporting local families and bringing our community together.”

The “Back to School in Style” Backpack Giveaway is open to local students and their families. In addition to backpack distribution, attendees can enjoy a fun-filled day featuring free backpacks filled with school supplies, free haircuts to help students look their best and feel confident ahead of the new school year, free food including hot dogs, chips, drinks and ice cream, temporary tattoos, kids karaoke, the Bumble Bus and much more!

Adding to the excitement, many of The Colorado S.M.I.L.E.S. Project’s business sponsors will be hosting carnival games and providing additional goodies for families to enjoy throughout the event.
