One in four people in Weld County struggles with hunger, and almost 10 percent of the population in Larimer County may be facing food insecurity. To help our local communities faced with the need for food assistance, Human Bean Northern Colorado is hosting a special give-back event. On Friday, June 19, $1 from every drink purchased at any of the 11 Human Bean Northern Colorado drive-thru locations will be donated to help those in need. Proceeds will be distributed between the Food Bank for Larimer County, Weld Food Bank, Windsor Severance Food Pantry and Wellington Colorado Food Bank.
“We’re proud to work alongside these dedicated local food banks to help ensure our neighbors have access to the nutritious food they need,” says Frank Sherman, co-owner of Human Bean Northern Colorado.
In addition to raising critical funds, staff and volunteers from the different food banks will be onsite at several Human Bean locations to accept donations of canned and nonperishable food items. Needed items include basic staples such as canned vegetables, beans, soup and pasta. This is also an opportunity for customers to learn more about each food bank’s mission and hear more about their services.
