Wellington Community Services Center/Food Pantry Launches Legacy Brick Fundraising Campaign

By: Staff

The Wellington Community Services Center (CSC)/Food Pantry has launched a brick fundraising campaign to help the organization finalize its fundraising efforts to build a brick-and-mortar facility that offers a permanent home for the Wellington Food Pantry. The new facility will offer expanded hours and a greater variety of food to meet the critical needs of the community’s most vulnerable.

Each 4” x 8” brick purchase is a $150 tax-deductible donation, with 100 percent of proceeds going directly toward the Wellington CSC/Food Pantry. Each brick may be engraved with up to three lines of 17 characters on each line. Bricks may be dedicated to a family, in a business name or in memory of a loved one. Bricks are also available in 8” x 8” and 12” x 12” sizes for an additional donation. These bricks will be a permanent part of the center’s landscape. Those interested in making a charitable brick donation can visit the Wellington Community Services Center website.

Wellington CSC/Food Pantry campaign

A year ago, the organization purchased property at 3520 Harrison Ave. in Wellington with a dream to create a permanent home for the Wellington Community Services Center/Food Pantry. The property includes a 2,323-square-foot warehouse on three city lots. The building will incorporate a designated space for the Food Pantry with large freezers, coolers and shelving for food distribution and storage. The facility will also provide four offices to accommodate other social service organizations, including Larimer County Health & Human Services.

A fundraising campaign was launched to renovate, expand and equip the building, creating a facility that will allow it to provide the uplifting and life-enhancing resources necessary to support the Wellington community. The organization is now in the final stages of its campaign and plans to begin remodel of the property this fall.

“In addition to funding the cost of constructing the CSC/Food Pantry, the funds generated through the brick campaign will support us in maintaining and improving the Food Pantry program,” says Mark Gabbert, board chair. “It also allows us to continue providing support for our neighbors in need. We believe that people cannot effectively grow and thrive if their basic needs are not being met, making the Wellington Community Services Center/Food Pantry an invaluable asset to the overall wellbeing of our community.”
