The City of Greeley’s annual Spring Clean-Up is returning May 8 and 9, with new rules residents should know before they arrive. The event runs from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. both days at the site west of 14th Avenue and A Street. Admission is $25 per car or pickup truck load, or $35 per trailer. The city accepts cash, checks and credit cards.
Key changes for 2026
This year’s event includes several important updates aimed at improving safety and efficiency:
- No household trash.
- No bagged items. All materials must be fully visible and unbagged when vehicles enter the site. Vehicles with bagged loads will be turned away.
- No enclosed trailers or box trucks.
- Freon-containing appliances—such as refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers—are limited to one per household.
- Tires are accepted (maximum four, under 20 inches), but rims must be removed before drop-off.
Greeley residents only
The Spring Clean-Up is open only to City of Greeley residents. Participants must bring a valid photo ID confirming Greeley residency.
What’s accepted at the main site
The main drop-off site accepts appliances, furniture, mattresses, scrap metal and tires (within the limits noted above).
Separate drop-off locations for some materials
Several material types require drop-off at dedicated locations. Residents should plan ahead:
Household hazardous waste
Paint, batteries, motor oil and pesticides may be dropped off at North Weld County, located at 1311 N. 17th Ave. (two blocks from the main site). The facility will be open Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. to support Spring Clean-Up. Fees may apply for some materials. For questions, call the hazardous waste hotline at 970.400.2233.
Green waste
Yard debris, branches and grass clippings may be taken to the Greeley Organic Waste Center, located at 1150 N. 25th Ave. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Fees apply.
Electronics and computers
Weld County periodically hosts e-waste collection events for residents. For the current schedule and locations, visit Weld County Environmental Health Services or Colorado Electronics and Computer Waste online, or call 970.400.2217. Fees may apply.
For questions, call 970.350.9336 from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
