The Loveland Downtown District Provides Free Summer Fun

By: Staff

The Loveland Downtown District is pleased to announce the return of the One Sweet Summer event series in Downtown Loveland. Running from mid-May through the end of August, the series kicks off on Saturday, May 30, and will feature a variety of festivals, activities, classes and concerts bringing fun and entertainment for all ages. All events in the series are free and open to the public, with free parking available throughout downtown and in The Foundry Parking Garage.

Throughout the summer, the Loveland Downtown District will host family-friendly live music featuring talented national bands, along with weekly Saturday fitness classes, Kid’s Days in The Foundry Plaza on Wednesdays, an Ice Cream Festival in June, a series of eight Wednesday Night Concerts, a two-day Bluegrass Festival and the popular Blues & Cruise classic car show with live blues music. The event series will also feature collaborations with downtown businesses, local artists, food vendors, downtown craft breweries and more.
This summer, several of the One Sweet Summer events will expand their footprints to include newly completed sections of 4th Street that have been renovated as part of the Heart Improvement Plan.

Blues & Cruise will kick off the One Sweet Summer series on Saturday, May 30, taking place in its traditional locations on 3rd Street and 5th Street between Cleveland Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, while also expanding onto East 4th Street between Lincoln Avenue and Washington Avenue. Attendees can enjoy classic cars and live blues duos and trios at each event location. This year, the Loveland Downtown District is partnering with local nonprofit Meals on Wheels, which will host push-car challenges in The Foundry Plaza.
Bluegrass & Brews will be expanded to a two-day festival this year, kicking off on Friday, June 5, with an evening of live music on the newly completed block of 4th Street between Railroad Avenue and Garfield Avenue. The first day of the festival will serve as the official grand opening of this section of 4th Street and mark the first large-scale concert hosted on the newly completed roadway. The Loveland Downtown District is partnering with local brewery Loveland Aleworks to help host the event and will highlight the businesses located along this block as part of the celebration.

The Loveland Downtown District encourages the community to join in these free events, experience the improvements taking shape along 4th Street and support the many small businesses that make Downtown Loveland a vibrant destination throughout the summer.
