Human Bean Northern Colorado’s Coffee for a Cure Offers Month-long Opportunities to Support Local Cancer Fighters

By: Staff

Human Bean Northern Colorado is brewing up something extra special this October for the 20th annual Coffee for a Cure event, its largest fundraising initiative. All proceeds will serve patients battling breast cancer, and all cancers, at local Banner Health and UCHealth facilities. To date, this event has raised $688,000 to fund patient care and support programs in our community.

“Coffee for a Cure is one of our most meaningful traditions,” says owner Frank Sherman. “Every cup makes a difference, and thanks to the generosity of our customers, we’re able to provide comfort and care for patients in Northern Colorado facing a cancer diagnosis.”

Although Coffee for a Cure is held on Oct. 17, there will be plenty of opportunities all month long for the community to help neighbors in need.

In anticipation of the big day and in recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Human Bean will sell exclusive Coffee for a Cure merchandise and donate a portion of the sales to Coffee for a Cure.

  • Starting Oct. 1, limited-edition Coffee for a Cure mugs will be available for purchase.
    • $5 from every mug sold will go directly to the cause.
  • Starting Oct. 10, special Coffee for a Cure items, including hand sanitizer, totes, air fresheners and more, will be available at Human Bean stands.
    • 100 percent of sales will benefit local cancer patients.
  • Friday, Oct. 17 is Coffee for a Cure day. Representatives from Banner Health and UCHealth will serve as guest baristas at each location. This will give customers the opportunity to ask questions and make cash donations.
    • All 10 drive-thru locations will donate 100 percent of sales to Coffee for a Cure.

Additionally, The Human Bean will feature a pink drink every Friday as the daily discounted special. These include:

  • Oct. 3: Cold brew with cherry/almond cold foam
  • Oct. 10: Pink Flamingo, a Lime Bright Energy mixed with tropical flavors (almond, guava, watermelon and grapefruit)
  • Oct. 17: Pink Lady, a classic white chocolate latte with cherry syrup
