NoCo Pledge Encourages Legacy Giving This Fall

By: Staff

As fall approaches and the NoCo Pledge campaign enters its final stretch, the NoCo Foundation invites residents to help shape the next 50 years in Northern Colorado. With Larimer and Weld counties projected to grow 92 percent between 2015 and 2045, the region is changing fast—and the Foundation is calling on the community to ensure generosity grows right alongside it.

The NoCo Pledge is a year-long initiative celebrating the spirit of local giving while encouraging residents to make philanthropy a lasting part of their legacy. Since its launch earlier this year, hundreds of individuals, families and businesses have pledged to give back, with many sharing heartfelt reasons for their commitment:

“I signed the #NoCoPledge because Northern Colorado is so special to our family and one of the most beautiful places we’ve lived.” — Christina

“TOGETHER, we can build strong, thriving communities! Each one of us has the power to make a difference.” — Karrie

As part of the pledge, participants commit to give back to the community and receive resources on some of the best ways to do that, from making a local nonprofit a priority in their annual giving to updating their will to include a charitable gift.

“The people of Northern Colorado love where they live and are known for their generous spirit,” says Mary Ericson, philanthropic advisor at the NoCo Foundation. “This fall, we’re inviting the community to share why Northern Colorado is special to them, as well as how they plan to make a lasting difference in our region. Everyone can give back to their community in a meaningful way.”

The NoCo Foundation is also encouraging families to talk about generosity as a shared value by giving statements, involving children in charitable decisions and making kindness part of their story for generations to come.
