Tell us about yourself, your history and how you came to be where you are now.
Like many, I graduated college unsure of my next steps. I accepted my first professional role with CBRE and later contracted with Cigna. When an opportunity emerged to help bring in new Medicare business in Northern Colorado, I took it. One year in, I was laid off. I quickly found another opportunity, only to face another layoff. Through it all, I discovered my passion: serving the Medicare community. I wanted to create something lasting that allowed me to do what I love. That’s how Blossom Brokerage was born.
Explain your career, achievements and professional highlights.
Early in my professional journey, I had the incredible opportunity to return to my old college, the University of Northern Colorado (go bears), and deliver a guest lecture for one of my former professors. It was an experience I still consider one of the highlights of my career. I’m also proud to be recognized as one of the top 15 agents within my Colorado upline. Additionally, I serve as the official Medicare Ranger at Village Medical in Windsor, where Blossom Brokerage is their trusted Medicare guide.
In what ways do you give back to the community?
One of my favorite events to host is a free tie-dye activity at senior housing facilities and active adult centers. It’s always a joy to watch them light up with creativity. Their excitement and smiles make every moment worthwhile. I also partner with local food banks every month to provide essential items, like toiletries, for those in need. Being a reliable resource and bringing people together through creativity and care is what fills my heart.
What do you consider the biggest accomplishment or challenge you’ve overcome, either professionally or personally?
A significant challenge I faced was experiencing two professional layoffs. The feeling of being blindsided and uncertain about what comes next was incredibly difficult to process. However, I chose to see it as a push toward personal growth and independence. It became clear that I needed to take control of my future. I made the decision that I would no longer allow my professional path to be determined by circumstances beyond my control.
Tell us something unique about you.
A fun fact about me is that I have a deep love for plants—especially cacti. I have more than 100 indoor plants, each bringing a bit of joy and life into my space. My favorite is a four-foot-tall cactus named Pricky Bobby, who proudly stands as the centerpiece of my collection. He even has a little companion named Frankenstein. A lot of the plants I use for marketing are from my home jungle.
Where do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
In the next five years, I’d like to grow a team of like-minded individuals who share my passion for community and service. We’ll create fun, meaningful events that bring people together while offering reliable support for health insurance needs. I envision a welcoming office where you can drop in for Bingo on a Tuesday and also get help navigating your health benefits. It’s about blending joy, connection and care in a space that truly serves.
What piece(s) of advice would you give to your younger self?
If I could offer my younger self advice, it would be to slow down and enjoy the moment. Go to the party and make the memories. Life is too short for “shoulda, coulda, woulda” regrets. Focus on what truly matters in the present because in order to really win, you have to prioritize what’s important now. Don’t stress over the small stuff—it rarely matters in the long run. Embrace the journey, and trust that God has a plan.
Why are you passionate about helping this demographic?
I’m deeply passionate about serving the older adult community because they are a generation that should never be overlooked or forgotten. They hold so much wisdom, experience and value, and I believe they deserve to feel seen, heard and supported. I love empowering them with the tools and knowledge to become their own best advocates, whether it’s through Medicare guidance, community programs or simply being a trusted resource. Helping them navigate this stage of life with confidence is something I take pride in. P.S. My assistant is my 83-year-old grandma-in-law.
What do you find most fulfilling about organizing activities for the elderly?
The most fulfilling thing is the joy and connection it brings. Many seniors face loneliness or feel forgotten, so creating opportunities for them to engage, laugh and feel seen is deeply meaningful to me. These activities are more than just something to pass the time: They help restore purpose, build community and bring moments of genuine happiness. Seeing them light up during a game, craft or while sharing stories reminds me how important it is to nurture these connections. It’s a privilege to give back to a generation that has given so much.
