As part of a collaboration between Book Trust, Scholastic and author Dav Pilkey, 216 copies of the newest “Dog Man” children’s book were delivered to Colorado students. Founded in Fort Collins, Book Trust is a national early literacy nonprofit that recently marked its largest-ever donation of 27,643 books, which was fully funded by Pilkey. To celebrate, partner schools hosted “Read Together Hero Moments” honoring everyday heroes, including those who take the time to read with others. At Shawsheen Elementary School, 30 Greeley West High School students joined in, reading “Dog Man: Big Jim Begins” with younger students to inspire a love of books and storytelling.
