4.7-8.21 :: The Elizabeth Hotel
April was National Child Abuse Prevention month and this year Realities For Children created a unique way to bring awareness to the issues of child abuse in our community and invite everyone to be a voice for prevention. The Realities Rooftop Raise took place for two days on the rooftop terrace of The Elizabeth Hotel in Old Town Fort Collins. With the help of Townsquare Media and Saunders Heath Construction, donations were raised on the air, online and in person through a bucket pulley system. Many local businesses and community members came out to show their support for child abuse prevention. The event included a live stream of local bands with an award ceremony, “The Triumph Awards.” Radio talent from Townsquare Media comfortably camped on the roof with gear provided by Scheels Johnstown. The fundraising campaign took place the entire month of April, spreading awareness and 10,000 pinwheels for prevention in Northern Colorado.
