Katie & Scott Now and Forever

Unique wedding details: With both of us working in the wedding industry, we wanted to do some non-traditional things (that we weren’t seeing all of the time at work). Being a lighting designer, Scott wanted a giant sized light brite for guests to decorate and a custom-made neon sign with our wedding theme, “You + Me.” Hedge walls doubled as drink holders for guests. We also wanted the timeline for the event to be seamless and as enjoyable as possible. All photographs were done prior to our guests arriving. It was important to us to be with our guests for the entire event. No one went hungry for the rest of the evening with a dessert wall of glazed donuts with various toppings, pineapple upside down cake and cookies.

Favorite wedding memory: For me, it was the hora [traditional Jewish chair dance] at the reception. At one point, my chair was tilted so far forward that I slipped right off (I was OK, but everyone was laughing!). For Scott, it was seeing me for the first time when I tapped him on the shoulder after I came down the stairs at The Elizabeth Hotel for our first look, then walking together with our photographers to The Union while taking wedding photos in quirky alleys and corners.
