Where you start doesn’t determine where you finish
Without a diploma or much experience, Smith began cleaning houses to support her young family. She found that she enjoyed it and was very good at it. Within two months, her schedule was full, and her husband quickly joined the business. In another two months, their schedule again was full, and she hired the first employee for her new company, All Star Cleaning Services, a full-service home and office cleaning company.
In business since 2006, All Star proudly offers industry-leading pay and benefits for its staff, including health insurance and company cars. The company has experienced steady success, having grown to 45 employees, with more than 750 recurring clients and thousands of one-time clients. Having built what is now one of the most successful home cleaning companies in America, Smith often is sought out to coach owners of other cleaning businesses.
In 2018, Smith expanded the business by opening Handyman Connection of Fort Collins, which specializes in small- to medium-size home improvements, repairs and remodeling jobs.
As a reflection of Smith’s commitment to giving back to the community, All Star donates extensively to local fundraisers for schools, churches and non-profits. The company partners with Cleaning for a Reason to provide free house cleaning to women undergoing treatment for cancer. It also provides free cleaning service to Voices Carry Child Advocacy Center in Fort Collins, and Smith donates a portion of her monthly profits to Hope House, which provides support to teenage mothers.
Smith recently bought and remodeled the former Red Cross building to be the permanent location for both companies, deepening this Fort Collins native’s roots in the community, and proving where you start does not need to determine where you finish.
