City of Greeley Museums Announce New Open Days and Free General Admission

Visiting the City of Greeley Museums is now easier and more affordable than ever. The Greeley History Museum updated its public hours and will now be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday through Sunday instead of Thursday through Saturday. In addition, general admission is free during regular hours at both the Greeley History Museum and Centennial Village Museum (excluding special events).

With the new schedule and free admission, more families, students and history lovers will be able to explore Greeley’s stories together.

Now on exhibit at the Greeley History Museum

Take advantage of the museum’s new hours and free admission. The museum’s current exhibits include:

  • A Great Frontier Odyssey: Sketching the American West
    • Through May 24, 2026
    • Follow artists Jules Tavernier and Paul Frenzeny on their 1873 cross-country journey as they captured life and landscapes of the American West.
  • Our History, Our Voice: Mexican American History Project of Greeley
    • Through September 27, 2026
    • The Mexican American History Project of Greeley Committee created a book about Greeley’s Mexican American community, with local residents at the heart of the project. Listen along as local historians tell their stories in their own words.
  • Viewfinder: Through the Lens of Time
    • Through March 8, 2026
    • At their most basic, the machines we call cameras all do the same thing: They capture light. Journey behind the lens and discover how cameras developed into today’s digital tools.
  • Reporting from Greeley
    • Ongoing
    • Dedicated to the history of printing, this exhibit includes historic photos, stereotype mats and turn-of-the-century printing equipment. Don’t miss the 1899 Chandler and Price treadle press.
  • Utopia: Adaptation on the Plains
    • Ongoing
    • Explore the history of Greeley, including the formation of the Union Colony and the area’s agricultural heritage, water usage and growth over time.

The Greeley History Museum is located at 714 8th St. Centennial Village Museum, located at 1475 A St., opens for the season on May 23, with free general admission available during regular operating days throughout the summer.
