The FireKracker 5K kicked off the Fourth of July in Fort Collins with an energizing performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by Fort Collins Symphony trumpet player John Adler. This year’s race featured a new scavenger hunt, followed by the 5K and a kids’ one-mile run. Afterward, attendees enjoyed local vendor booths, food trucks and an awards ceremony. Finishers of the FireKracker 5K received ceramic awards made by local artist TS. Berger, and the winners shared a $7,000 prize along with their beautiful pottery. More than 2,000 participants helped make the beloved tradition an unforgettable celebration of community, fitness and patriotism.
