Jim Dunn and Julie Truax, Owners
Jim’s Wings
Jim opened the restaurant in 1991 with little knowledge about the food service industry in a city that had a record number of restaurants per capita. Now Jim and his wife, Julie, feel blessed and grateful for the 34 years they have been in business—and most importantly, the friendships and relationships they’ve built with generations of customers and colleagues as a result.
Jim and Julie established Jim’s Wings as a bedrock of Fort Collins’ Campus West shopping center early on, with a welcoming environment that attracts regulars to watch football games, enjoy a night out with family or simply savor chicken wings in a variety of tasty sauces. The couple loves coming up with new flavors for their customers, but Jim’s favorite has always been the classic “hot” sauce.
“Our traditional buffalo flavor is a perfect blend of buttery smoothness and a little heat with a tangy finish that proves to be both satisfying and addictive,” he says. “This sauce is not only a way to transform a simple chicken wing into a mouthwatering experience but has expanded into a kitchen staple that our customers love to take home.”
Their success is also a reflection of the hard work and dedication of their manager, shift leaders and staff who take pride in the brand. They thank you, Northern Colorado, for recognizing Jim’s Wings as the region’s best chicken wings in the 2024 Best of NOCO contest. It is truly an honor and inspires them to continue striving for excellence.
