Event includes visit from Santa, annual Parade of Lights on Cleveland Avenue
The Town of Wellington will celebrate the 2024 holiday season Dec. 7 with “Holiday Magic.” The event, which is cosponsored by the Wellington Public Library and the Wellington Main Street Program, combines a trio of annual Wellington holiday activities and helps provide local residents with a day full of Christmas cheer.
After the day opens with the Wellington Senior Resource Center’s 15th Annual Bake Sale/Craft Bazaar and the annual Wellington Craft Fair in the morning and early afternoon, “Holiday Magic” kicks off at 3:30 p.m. when Santa Claus pays a visit to Owl Canyon Coffee (3745 Cleveland Ave. in Wellington) to visit with any local children who wish to see him.
At 5:30 p.m., the annual Wellington Parade of Lights commences on Cleveland Avenue in downtown Wellington, featuring holiday-themed illuminated floats made by Wellington residents. The event also serves as the unofficial kickoff for the Wellington Tour of Lights, which provides participants with a community map of Wellington residences decked out in holiday lights and decorations for their viewing pleasure.
After “Holiday Magic,” residents are invited to finish the day at Wellington FFA’s annual Free Chili Dinner following the parade at Wellington Middle-High School.
