On Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, local businesses joined Big O Tires Fort Collins to play pickleball for a purpose. The 2024 Foothills Rotary Pickleball Classic was held at The Picklr in Loveland to benefit Project Self Sufficiency, a nonprofit empowering single parents with education and career development. Big O Tires supported the event with a $5,000 sponsorship.

“It was so much fun to see so much support on the courts,” says Jim Lautzenheiser, owner of Big O Tires Fort Collins. “It was even more satisfying to see so many businesses come together to help single parents meet the needs of their families.”

The event raised more than $35,000 for Project Self Sufficiency. The money will be used to support their Cars for Families program. One main barrier for single-parent families is safe and reliable transportation to get to work, school and appointments. The funds will help to purchase used vehicles for program participants.
