Seth Forwood has been promoted to Vice President of Programs for Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Harvest Farm. Forwood has been with the Mission since 2005 and recently held the title of senior director for Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Harvest Farm. While working toward his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy at Colorado State University, he began his service to the Northern Colorado community as an intern at Harvest Farm.
“As a resident of Northern Colorado for over 33 years, my life and the lives of those on the margins of our community have always intersected. Even as a child, I have memories of volunteering at Open Door Rescue Mission or having friends of my family being in the program at Harvest Farm,” Forwood says. “Now that it is my vocation going on 18 years, I am all the more convinced that these issues require participation and collaboration from the whole community that is impacted by them and feel privileged that Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Harvest Farm are at the center of these crucial collaborative networking efforts.”
His initial full-time job was as an instructor/volunteer coordinator in February 2006. Forwood was then elevated to Harvest Farm’s education coordinator in 2008, where he spent eight years teaching and coordinating materials with the goal of raising self-awareness and providing opportunities for the individuals in the Mission’s recovery program.
In 2017, he was promoted to director of Harvest Farm, where he supervised a staff of 22 while developing, implementing and maintaining all aspects of the programs and operation. He earned the title of senior director for Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Harvest Farm in 2020.
“Seth began with Denver Rescue Mission as an intern 18 years ago and has been with us ever since. For the last 19 years, he has been leading Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Harvest Farm as our senior program director. Seth lives in Fort Collins and is well respected,” says president and CEO Dennis Van Kampen. “He is smart, compassionate and has a heart for God and those we serve. I am thrilled to announce his promotion to vice president of Northern Colorado. He will continue to do great work and help us bring an end to homelessness one life at a time.”
At the two Northern Colorado locations—Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Harvest Farm—the lives of people experiencing homelessness and addiction are restored through emergency services, like meals and shelter, and long-term, life-changing programs.
