Fort Collins Symphony’s ‘Tales of Arabian Moons’: A Magical Season Opener

The award-winning Fort Collins Symphony, under the baton of Maestro Wes Kenney, is set to launch its thrilling 2024-2025 Season with an extraordinary evening of magical music. On Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., join your Fort Collins Symphony at the Fort Collins Lincoln Center for the season’s first Signature Concert, “Tales of Arabian Moons.”

This live symphonic performance will take you on an imaginative journey through vibrant and evocative soundscapes. The evening opens with Carl Nielsen’s Maskarade Overture, a glittering and spirited piece introducing a world of romance and intrigue. The celebration continues with Lev Kolodub’s exuberant Ukrainian Dance Suite No. 1, which promises to ignite the stage with its festive energy and youthful excitement.

Adding to the enchantment is Hilary Tann’s The Grey Tide and the Green. The composer draws inspiration from the poignant poem “Boundaries” by Welsh poet R.S. Thomas, offering a musical exploration of nature’s contrasts. The finale features Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s dazzling Scheherazade, a spectacular journey through fairy-tale realms of a Sultan’s majestic palace, Sinbad’s adventurous voyages, and romantic hideouts for princes and princesses.

Don’t miss this evening of musical storytelling. Get your tickets now and be part of the Fort Collins Symphony’s new season!

*For any who are unable to attend the live performance, the FCS offers a live-stream concert option. See details at LCTix.com.
