The Greeley Historic Preservation Commission invites the community to two free walking tours in July 2024. The annual walking tours let citizens learn about and see sites of historical, cultural and architectural importance to Greeley.
Downtown Churches
At 6 p.m. on Monday, July 22, visit five historic churches in downtown Greeley. Kaida Pierot, a historic preservation intern, will lead the tour starting at the Old Park Church, now called St. Patrick Presbyterian Church, at 803 10th Ave.
Cottonwood Neighborhood
At 6 p.m. on Monday, July 29, planner of historic preservation Betsy Kellums will lead the pre-Chautauqua tour about game-changing architecture in the Cottonwood neighborhood. This 1960s-70s neighborhood shows a marked change from pin architecture and neighborhood planning with modern and contemporary styles. The tour begins at the corner of Cottonwood Park at the northwest intersection of 26th Avenue and 26th Avenue Court.

High Plains Chautauqua
This signature event is held annually in Greeley. Audiences from all over Colorado and beyond enjoy professional performances by nationally acclaimed Chautauqua scholars who bring history to life.
