Transfort, the City of Fort Collins’ public transportation operator, will host an open house on June 27, 2024, at the Downtown Transit Center (DTC) to inform residents of proposed service changes that would take effect Aug. 12.
The proposed service changes include the following enhancements:
- Route 5: End the southbound route at McClelland and Swallow (instead of Stanford and Monroe), which would add a layover at Swallow Station to provide more reliable connections with Route 6 and MAX.
- Routes 5, 14 and 18: Add an additional hour of evening service; routes would end during the 8 p.m. hour.
- Routes 8, 14, 18 and 81: Minor timing adjustments to enhance on-time performance.
- Routes 14 and 18: Shift all times back 10 minutes for a departure on the hour from DTC.
- Route 18: New routing from DTC – west on Maple, south on Mason, east on Olive. This new routing would avoid using College Avenue to address safety concerns turning east (left) on Olive from College. This removes one bus stop at College and Laporte (stop #157) with historically low ridership.
Community members can provide feedback at the meeting, to Transfort directly or by taking a survey at ridetransfort.com/survey.
