Greeley’s Annual Bike Day Returns June 26

The City of Greeley will host Let’s Bike Day (formerly Bike to Work Day) on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Community members can celebrate active transportation, including bicycling, walking and rolling, by ditching their vehicle and riding while out and about instead.

Agencies and businesses will host ride-by stations in both the morning and afternoon across the city. Morning stations will serve the public from 7-9:30 a.m. Afternoon stations are generally open from 3-7 p.m. but may vary based on each business’s operational hours.

This year, sponsor ALLO Fiber is generously donating $1500 toward a bike from Blue Sky Cycles for a random giveaway. Riders can enter for a chance to win by visiting a station, either in the morning or afternoon. Up to two entries per rider (one for the morning and one for the afternoon) are allowed.

Enhanced Downtown Morning Station at Lincoln Park

Eight partners are bringing the community one large downtown breakfast station. Participants can expect a french toast stick breakfast, coffee, Let’s Bike T-shirts, helmets, bicycle maintenance and additional giveaways.

Partner hosts at Lincoln Park include ALLO Fiber, the Greeley Recreation Center, Aunt Helen’s, Blue Sky Cycles, Greeley Mobility Services, the Greeley Police Department, Banner Health, and the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO).

Folks interested in picking up the much-loved annual bike T-shirt should stop by the morning Lincoln Park Station while supplies last. Lincoln Park will be the primary location offering T-shirts to the public.

Morning Stations: 7-9:30 a.m.

Morning stations celebrate those on the move in the morning, whether commuting or out for daybreak exercise. Stop by one or multiple stations throughout the community for snacks, breakfast and other giveaways.

Greeley Bikes boasts approximately 85 miles of in-town bike lanes, just one part of the city’s bikeway system. With the bike map developed in 2017, planning a trip is easy. Review the rules of the road to ensure safe riding, and always wear a helmet and stay hydrated.

Bikes are welcome while riding Greeley Evans Transit (GET) fixed-route buses. All fixed-route buses (transit services that run on a specific route with pre-determined schedules and stops) have three bike racks on the front of the bus. For more information about Let’s Bike Day and other Greeley Bikes events, visit greeleybikes.com.
