Columbine Health Systems Kicks Off Father’s Day Weekend with Community Open House Friday, June 14
Father’s Day is a time to recognize the fathers and father figures in our lives who have taught us life skills and shared their wisdom. It’s also the perfect occasion for Columbine Health Systems to celebrate meaningful bonds with residents, staff and the community. Columbine Health Systems is starting the special weekend with a celebratory “Kick Off to Father’s Day” open house at Columbine Commons. The event will take place on Friday, June 14, from 1-4 p.m. at 1475 Main Street in Windsor.
“As the activity director at Columbine Commons Assisted Living, my mission is to bring an atmosphere of caring, enrichment and fun to our residents by offering varied activities and events,” says Kimberly Albro. “Many of our residents have their roots deep in Windsor, Colo., and they love seeing the support of our local businesses, schools and people. We are really looking forward to opening our doors and showing how Columbine cares at the open house.”
The open house will feature:
- Columbine Car Show in partnership with local car collectors
- Delicious drinks from Espresso on the Move coffee truck
- Happy hour root beer ice cream floats and snow cones
- Live entertainment from Sound Affects at 2:30 p.m.
- Cookies and other treats served inside Columbine Commons
“We are so excited and pleased to be hosting our community open house to the Windsor public and surrounding areas,” says Stephanie Curtis, admission and social services director. “Our open house has been created to celebrate Father’s Day, our community and our amazing Windsor campus. Please come join us for tours, fun, lively entertainment and refreshments.”
The open house also provides an opportunity for attendees to explore Columbine Commons. The assisted living community offers 58 apartments with spacious walk-in closets, bathrooms with walk-in showers and kitchenettes. Recreational areas include exercise equipment, a library and a beauty shop. Personal care providers are available 24 hours a day to help residents with various tasks. There also is a nursing staff on site 10 hours every day. Desirably located in the heart of town, residents have easy access to walking paths and medical offices, including UCHealth Family Medicine and Banner Health Family Medicine.
