Big O Tires of Loveland, Fort Collins and Greeley partner to deliver Mother’s Day cheer to moms and staff in assisted living communities
Local Big O Tires locations made sure that the many moms, grandmothers and mom figures residing in assisted living communities who couldn’t be with their families felt appreciated and remembered on Mother’s Day. On May 10, 2024, staff from Big O Tires of Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley delivered Mother’s Day wishes to 570 women in the form of potted flowers.
The Mother’s Day program originally started 10 years ago with Big O Tires Loveland. “We delivered 25 potted flowers to women in one nursing home for the first year,” says Troy Nistler, owner of Big O Tires Loveland. “We are so excited to see it grow exponentially with the help of the Fort Collins and Greeley locations. It’s been wonderful to extend this small act of kindness to so many more moms. It really lights up their day.”
This year, the three Big O Tires retailers purchased potted pansies from Gulley Greenhouse and personally delivered them to 10 assisted living communities. The receiving communities included:
- Columbine Commons, Windsor
- New Mercer Commons, Fort Collins
- Lakeview Commons, Loveland
- Brookdale Mariana Butte, Loveland
- Good Samaritan Society, Loveland Village
- Garden Square at Westlake, Greeley
- The Bridge, Greeley
- MeadowView, Greeley
- Brookdale, Fort Collins
- Mackenzie Place, Fort Collins
“As a locally owned business, it’s our privilege to give back to residents of our community, especially on Mother’s Day,” says Jim Lautzenheiser, owner of Big O Tires Fort Collins. “Delivering flowers to the women in our local assisted living home is just a small gesture of appreciation for their role as mothers, grandmothers and pillars of our community.”
This year’s program included staff members at each assisted living community facility, too. The Big O Tires retailers gave staff members a coupon for 50 percent off an oil change. “Staff members fill a great void in the lives of those residing in each community,” says Jon Smith, owner of Big O Tires Greeley. “We wanted to make sure to recognize their contribution to caring for all the moms in their community.”
