The Lincoln Center Announces It’s Curtains for Hunger Food Drive to Benefit Food Bank for Larimer County
Join The Lincoln Center in giving back to the community this holiday season with a food drive benefitting Food Bank for Larimer County. The Lincoln Center’s It’s Curtains for Hunger food drive begins at Straight No Chaser performances on Nov. 5 and will run through Dec. 13.
“Food insecurity is something no one in our community should ever have to experience,” says Jack Rogers, director at The Lincoln Center. “Through the many shared experiences and community events hosted at The Lincoln Center during the giving season, we are thrilled to be able to collect food donations on behalf of the Food Bank for Larimer County to help our neighbors in need.”
The Food Bank of Larimer County is a private nonprofit organization and the only Feeding America clearinghouse for donated food in Larimer County. Each year, Food Bank for Larimer County provides food for more than 33,000 people in need through its programs and community partners. Food Bank of Larimer County’s goal is to create a hunger-free Larimer County.
“We are so pleased The Lincoln Center is partnering with the Food Bank for Larimer County this holiday season!” says Heather Buoniconti, Chief Development Officer Food Bank for Larimer County. “Food insecurity in our community often goes unnoticed, and we are grateful to The Lincoln Center for bringing this essential need to the forefront of its patrons’ minds. Together we will work hard to put food on families’ tables during the holidays. Your generosity will change lives and we thank you for making a difference.”
Requested items for The Lincoln Center’s It’s Curtains for Hunger food drive include peanut butter (non-hydrogenated oil), canned meat/fish (chicken, salmon, tuna), canned fruit in fruit juice, whole grain low sugar cereal, whole grain pasta, brown rice and macaroni and cheese.
Donations by all community members are welcome, and tickets to performances are not required for drop off. The Lincoln Center, located at 417 W. Magnolia Street in Fort Collins, will be available to accept donations Tuesday through Saturday from noon-6 p.m., and one hour before or during performances from Nov. 5 through Dec. 13.
