On Sept. 29, National Coffee Day, Human Bean Northern Colorado combined their love for coffee and animals to turn the day into a fundraiser for Animal Friends Alliance and Big Bones Canine Rescue. One hundred percent of sales from drip coffee, iced coffee and toddies at all 10 locations on that day were donated to those two shelters. A total of $2,852.20 was raised, giving each shelter a donation of $1,426.10.
“The high cost of living is having an effect on animal shelters,” explains Krista Smith, assistant director of operations for Human Bean Northern Colorado. “Many people are being faced with the difficult decision of surrendering their pets, resulting in full shelters. These funds will help while new homes for the animals are found.”
