Restoration and Re-opening of the B&B Pickle Barrel

Restoration and re-opening of The B&B Pickle Barrel by local restaurateurs, CSU alumni and local music venue owner.

The B&B Pickle Barrel, a beloved local fast-casual sandwich shop and bar, is proud to announce its restoration and re-opening under the ownership of local restaurateurs Mike Falco and Jeremy Tand, an investment team of Colorado State University Alumni including Mike Jensen, and local music venue owner and CSU professor Dani Grant.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the next chapter of the Pickle Barrel,” said Falco. “As Fort Collins small business owners, we deeply love this community and are excited to bring back a restaurant that has meant so much to so many in the area.”
In addition to restoring the physical space, the new ownership group is focused on reviving the Pickle Barrel’s legacy as a community-minded establishment. “We have a lot of plans to support and involve the community,” said Grant. “We are bringing back the treasured Pickle Barrel atmosphere along with many of the classic sandwich recipes that were fan favorites.”
The B&B Pickle Barrel has strong ties to Colorado State University, and the new owners are excited to bring a bit of CSU spirit to the restaurant. “As alumni, we are proud to breathe new life into a Fort Collins institution where so many great memories were created,” said Jensen.
But the Pickle Barrel’s revival doesn’t stop there. The ownership group has a number of fresh new ideas to expand the brand, including a beer garden behind the restaurant, a food truck, live music and festival presence, and alignment with the pickleball movement. “We want to add value to The Pickle Barrel’s offering’s to patrons in every way we can,” said Falco.
The B&B Pickle Barrel has a special connection to its past. The ownership group has historical ties to original Pickle Barrel owner Brenda Smith and has had conversations with her on ways to restore her original vision in conjunction with the new era of The Pickle Barrel. “Brenda has been extremely supportive and excited to be a part of the next chapter of the Pickle Barrel,” saidJensen.
The B&B Pickle Barrel is set to re-open its doors on March 15th, with a Grand Opening Celebration slated for May 3rd, which will be the restaurant’s 35th Anniversary. The new owners invite the entire Fort Collins community to come and see the transformation for themselves. They are confident that the Pickle Barrel will recapture the hearts and minds of the town and become a go-to spot for delicious sandwiches, cold drinks, and community events once again.
