Over 400 people joined in a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at the Foote Lagoon, sponsored by Heart and Sol. Loveland Mayor Jackie Marsh and County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally welcomed guests and Groupo Tlaloc opened with a spiritual dance ceremony. Dr. Del Real of Metropolitan State University emceed the event, which included performances by 14-year-old singer Alexis Miranda; poet Franklin Cruz; the Manabí Latin Band and the Mariachi Sangre Mexicana Band; and the youth of Groupo de Danza Quetzalcoatl, who encouraged participants to clap along to Mexican Folklorico dances. Local resident Reidesel Mendoza was presented with an award for advocating for a stranger in need.
