– Thrive Home Builders offers comfort, sustainability in new Fort Collins development –
Fort Collins’ latest development, Sonders, offers a wealth of amenities in a master-planned neighborhood made up of green homes designed to help residents age in place. The community’s smart design and location north of Old Town Fort Collins promises to make it an instant classic, drawing in both retirees as well as younger professionals who want the ease of finding their forever home now.
Sonders features amenities such as fitness and art studios, learning studios, green spaces, a resort-style pool, access to Richard’s Lake, community gardens and more. The development is made up of one-level ranch homes and townhomes that allow residents to age gracefully in their homes. Energy efficiency and sustainability is honored throughout the community, with electric vehicle charging stations, bike-friendly paths, native plant gardens and much more.
Thrive Home Builders is one of two builders for the development. Thrive is a green home builder founded by the Myers family in 1992. The family of home builders has long focused on energy efficiency, sustainability and air quality in their homes and the Sonders community is the latest evolution of that philosophy.
“Sonders is the next step in home ownership,” says CEO Stephen Myers. The age-focused community allows for homeowners to enjoy coveted amenities such as lake access while the home’s design can evolve alongside the homeowner.
Thrive’s homes are Energy Star Certified and Zero Energy Ready homes. “These homes are designed to produce as much power as the home needs,” says Myers. They will have the option to be completely carbon neutral, featuring all-electric power and solar energy. The homes will also focus on greater indoor air quality, with ventilation designed to bring more fresh air into the home in a controlled manner. All homes come with radon mitigation standard along with HEPA filtration.
Thrive is offering three home designs at Sonders, two single-family models and a ranch-style townhome. All three models feature optional finished basements.
The largest model, the Concord Patio, features the garage in the front of the home and offers a unique, detached third car garage option that can be finished for a variety of uses, including additional living space, a craft room or studio, etc.
“The flex space allows for homeowners to express their personal interests,” says Myers. The space is also accessed via an enclosed courtyard for a fantastic indoor-outdoor flow.
The second model is the Harmony Courtyards, which features alley-loaded garages and expansive front porches for those who enjoy the sense of community afforded by the inviting design. These models also offer a °ex space, this time over top of the garage.
The final model is the Parkview Townhome. At 1,476 to 2,379 sq. ft., these townhomes have a unique ranch-style design. “They live like single family homes but with the affordability of an attached home,” says Myers.
Thrive’s model homes are currently under construction. Initial pricing for each design will be released soon.
