The sun came out for race day, shining brightly over the foothills as 550+ runners ran the newly de-iced course around Horsetooth Reservoir. After crossing the finish line, runners were treated to the Polar Plunge party, which included food and beverages and the opportunity to plunge into the icy waters of Horsetooth Reservoir. With an air temperature of 36-degrees and a water temperature of 37-degrees, the polar plunge was not for the faint of heart. Over 400 people (and several dogs) braved the just-above-freezing temperatures and leapt into Horsetooth Reservoir.
