As work progresses on the new Vine/Lemay Overpass and realignment of Lemay Avenue, drivers will notice a significant shift when traveling on Lemay beginning Tuesday, Oct. 19.
The new traffic pattern will route northbound drivers onto more of the new Lemay Avenue alignment, then detour onto Buckingham Street before rejoining existing Lemay Avenue/9th Street. Southbound drivers will experience that shift in the opposite direction.
This shift will allow crews to complete curb and gutter work on the new alignment of Lemay and remove the section of existing Lemay Avenue between Buckingham Street south to the new alignment.
Drivers should use caution in the work zone and follow all detour signs.
The $24 million Vine/Lemay Overpass project is expected to be open to traffic by the end of 2021.
