Free celebration on Sept. 12 will feature live music, local art, sidewalk sales, food tastings and family-friendly activities
The community is invited to celebrate another milestone in the transformation of downtown Loveland with the 4th Street Block Party from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. The free, family-friendly celebration will take place on 4th Street between Cleveland and Lincoln avenues, marking the reopening of another completed section of the Heart Improvement Plan.
The afternoon will showcase the newly improved 4th Street while highlighting the independent businesses, artists, restaurants and community members that make downtown Loveland a destination.
“We’re excited to open another block of 4th Street and celebrate this milestone with the community,” says Sean Hawkins, executive director of the Loveland Downtown District. “The Heart Improvement Plan is about more than new streets and sidewalks. It’s about creating a downtown where people want to spend time, where businesses can thrive and where the community can come together. This block party is a chance to experience that vision firsthand.”
Throughout the afternoon, 4th Street will come alive with free entertainment and activities, including:
- Live Music: Sugar Britches will perform from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., followed by Roka Hueka from 2-4 p.m.
- Live Art: Independence Gallery will coordinate live art demonstrations and plein air painters throughout the event.
- Sidewalk Sales: Retailers along the newly completed block will bring their merchandise outdoors, giving attendees an opportunity to shop local and discover downtown businesses.
- Community Chalk Mural: Local artist Melissa Robinson will lead an interactive community chalk mural on 4th Street.
- Bites on the Block: Food lovers can purchase a $20 tasting ticket featuring nine bites from nine downtown Loveland restaurants, offering a flavorful way to explore the local dining scene.
- Spin on 4th Street: Local fitness studio Fly Fitness will host a special spin class before the block party. Registration is required.
A Celebration of Progress: The 4th Street Block Party is part of the Loveland Downtown District’s continued celebration of the Heart Improvement Plan, a multi-block revitalization project bringing significant infrastructure and streetscape improvements to downtown Loveland.
The completed improvements include new concrete roadways, wider sidewalks, improved lighting, landscaping, stone seat walls, more public art than ever before, event-friendly spaces and enhanced spaces designed to support both everyday downtown activity and community events.
The 4th Street Block Party is free and open to the public. Food and beverage purchases, including Bites on the Block tasting tickets, are additional.
