Town of Wellington Launches Transportation and Mobility Plan

Community invited to share experiences and ideas for getting around town

The Town of Wellington is developing its first Transportation and Mobility Plan to guide future investments in streets, sidewalks, trails and travel options.

The plan is a community-driven roadmap for improving how Wellington residents and visitors get around town, whether by car, bike, foot, mobility device or transit. It will help the town improve safety, manage growth and strengthen everyday connections between neighborhoods, schools and local businesses.

“This plan is about how we move—and how we move forward together,” says Wellington Mayor Calar Chaussee. “We want to hear directly from residents about what works, what doesn’t and what kind of community we want Wellington to be as we grow.”

The town and project team are inviting residents to share their input through an interactive online map and short survey. Community members can mark locations where it’s hard to walk, roll, bike or drive; highlight areas that feel safe or connected; and share what matters most for Wellington’s future. Members of town staff and the project team will also be present at a few community events during the end of November and beginning of December seeking feedback from residents.

“The Transportation and Mobility Plan will play a major role in shaping the future of Wellington,” says Town Planning Director Cody Bird. “We want feedback from as many people who live in Wellington as possible to ensure the plan is a reflection of their needs and preferences.”

The Wellington Transportation and Mobility Plan will be developed throughout 2026 with ongoing opportunities to get involved. Residents can learn more and add their input here.
